I had anglinal hernia surgery 18 days ago and I am still recovering. This was an open surgery and I must tell you that it has been a slow recovery. Take lots of time off, you will need it. I went back to work two weeks later and had to take it slow.

My wife has just had a total laproscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo oopherectomy under a surgeon who has done this procedure over 700 times and total time for the operation including anaesthesia was 45 minutes. She went to theatre at 11 o'clock and was back from recovery sitting up by 1 o'clock.
