Anesthetist = nurse

First, you need to become a registered nurse - that's 4 years of college.

Then you need to spend at least a year working in a critical care environment.

Then you need to go to nurse anesthetist school, which is another 2 years or so.

So, after high school, you are looking at about 7 years.
