In general, sperm can live in the right environment for up to 5 days. The right environment would be inside the uterus and the cervix. In certain environments, such as the cervix, uterus and fallopian tubes sperm have a life-span of up to five days. That's why a woman can get pregnant if they ovulate within 5 days after intercourse.

Semen always come back out, it's just the transporter fluid and has nowhere else to go. The sperms are on their way to your uterus. It can take up to 18 months to get pregnant even if you are focusing on the ovulation days (1-2 days a month). If nothing has happened after 12-18 months it's time to see the doctor and check if something is wrong.

I would say 24 because your egg is only viable 24 hours after it's been released if it's not fertilized during that time period your body will shed it off during your next menstral cycle.

A baby can not conceive until he or she has reached sexual maturity. For a girl that is when her period starts, for a boy it is when semen is able to be ejaculated.

How long can one take trying for a baby when nolonger taking contraceptive pills?

Contraceptives usually take 3 months until they have been completely removed from your system. Most Doctors recommend that you try to conceive after this time. There is no set time on how long it will take you to conceive, some women conceive very quickly while others can take a year or more to conceive. As a general rule of thumb, if you have not fallen pregnancy within 6-12 months of actively trying to conceive, speak to your Doctor. I would recommend that you consider performing ovulation tests as if you have intercourse during this time, you have an increased risk of conceiving. Hope this helped.
