Very short if they come to my garden pond!

Killed 4 adults at the beginning of the month and am now catching 5 to 30 larvae a day. Robins love them!

I prefer to keep my pond for the frogs, toads, newts and goldfish thankyou.

While you could try, it is not recommended. If you attempt to take a Beetle underwater without specialised modifications, the car will most likely be unable to function because cars do not have gills.

Diving beetles don't sped al their time totally underwater. They breathe by sticking their backs above the top. Adult diving beetles store air under their wing covers.

The lifespan of a predaceous diving beetle depends on where they live. Most of them can live through the winter months but not if they are intensely harsh conditions.
