A vitamin should actually dissolve in about 30 to 45 minutes in order to get full nutritional values. A good test is to mix evenly water and vinegar and use the heating pad of a coffee maker to heat up the solution. Stir the solution every 5 minutes after the pill has been added to see how long it will take to dissolve in your body. The reason it should take so long is because the nutrients need to finish dissolving in the small intestine to be absorbed correctly. If it takes less than 25 minutes it is not doing you much good.

It depends on the Medicine. Most medications start to take affect within 20 minutes.
