yes but very few

Yes, but you will need a few donor parts of the T25 diesel engine; sump, gearbox bellhousing, outlet manifold and engine support bars. Search for "club80-90" or "brickyard vw" for more help
because in 1960 vw did not make a diesel engine
A 2.5 l TDI Diesel engine (1996-2003)
on the front of the engine
we need to change out the thermostat on a 1996 VW 2.4 diesel engine Transporter and we need the schematic for it; where is the darned thing and how do you get it out to change it
It is a gas, my girlfriend just bought one :) I have a 1998 vw beetle with a 1.9 tdi engine. tdi means turbo direct inject. it is a diesel engine and it gets 48 to 50 mpg! I love it!
All Volkswagen inline-four watercooled engines have the same mount points, so the diesel you want will definitely fit. It will work so long as you take the transmission from the donor car too. If you use a gas-engine transmission with a diesel engine, the car will be REAL slow. And then there's the other problem, namely that diesel is about $1 per gallon more expensive and VW diesels don't get enough better economy to compensate for that.
Built in turbo? That would be your answer. You have the TDI engine, huh? Great engine. Is this your first new diesel? If it's a turbo diesel, you probably have a leak in the boost.
If you treat it well , they can go for hundreds of thousands miles..
