there is no cut and dry answer here. It just depends on your personal circumstances. If you have been an addict for years than you don't want to be thinking about getting off of it very fast. I took suboxone for three years, long enough for me to get my life back in order from the destruction of years of drug abuse. So once I had my life back on track and everything was some what back in order I slowly quit under my doctor's supervision. Seek professional help when trying to figure out this question because so many factors play into this very big decision.

∙ 15y agoThe half life of suboxone is 36 hours, so theoreticallly it can be effective for a couple days. In my experience, though, one dose (for me, 8mg) is effective for about 8 hours. I'm currently on 12mg so I take 8mg in the morning when I wake up and 4mg when I get off work, around 5. I start feeling kinda crappy at 3, but I wonder if it's in my head. That's what the docs say but I kinda doubt it. Sometimes I take another 4mg later at night, but that gets me into trouble at the end of the month. Anyway, long story short, you really need to take it for a while to find out what's most effective for you. Your doc should be able to help you out with that, too.

∙ 13y agoi think that depends on how long u have been taking it. I was told it has a 36 hour shelf life meaning if you take 8mgs today 24 hours later there will still be some in your system for up to 36 hours. so if you take it for a week, same amount everyday then it builds up so it would take about 48 hours or more to feel the withdraws from it in full effect.but everyones different.

∙ 14y agoThe full effect lasts about 12 hours, but you dont feel the need to take another dose until about 24 hours have passed.

how long does it take for multaq to start working?
You can take methadone after suboxone but do not take suboxone after methadone. If you have any opiates in your system and take suboxone, you will go into withdrawal......
From experience I have taken both together. But I am no doctor so you might want to check that out before trying. But methadone blocks the full effects of Oxycontin so it's not fun to take together. If you are trying to get off oxy with the methadone I would say wait about 5 or 6 hours. again i am no doctor so ask one before doing this.
how long does morfogen take to work
12hrs
It depends how many Mg of methadone you're on & how long you've been on it. You don't want to take suboxone for about 3 days from the start of the withdrawal symptoms. If you start the suboxone before then, it will make you sick.
