How loud something is. i.e.- how loud a planes engine is would be measured in decibals
Jackhammers are usually 115 decibals, which is loud enough to give you hearing damage.
Roughly about 130 decibals per "scream".
Loud can be dangerous to some people if they have a hearing kinds of problem, but otherwise its not dangerous. Overall it is not dangerous! Any noise over 120 decibals can damage your hearing immediatly. If you constantly listen to sounds 90 decibals or more, they can damage your hearing too.
420 decibals

Close to a car a measured sound pressure level of 100 dBSPL is possible. At the ear of a listener far away from the car the level must be much less. We got the distance law 1/r for the sound pressure.
yes it is... its almost high enough to make you deaf.........LOL! 8.9 decibels is very, very quiet. It is quieter than a whisper. 70 decibels is loud. 140 decibels is painfully loud.
Sound is actually a vibration in the air which travels in the form of a wave. The larger the amplitude of the wave, the "louder" the sound. the smaller the amplitude of the wave, the "softer" the sound.
100 times as loud as breathing
It's measured in db (decibals)
