He designs the outcome of his own future - be it positive or negative - through his own decision making process.
"Every man is the architect of his own fortune." Is accredited to Roman censor Appius Claudius Caecus (4th-3rd cent. bc): [Pseudo-Sallust Ad Caesarem Senem i.] sed res docuit id verum esse, quod in carminibus Appius ait, fabrum esse suae quemque fortunae, but is found quoted by numerous people including Sir Francis Bacon. What does it mean? It means we excel because of our own free will. We succeed because of our actions, and while the help of others may be very instrumental in insuring ones fortune, all that we accomplish, we do so by our own effort, by our own design. Conversely, we can be the architects of our own demise.

Yes! Every man is an architect of his own fortune, if he do struggle hard, then he'll get his fortune.
Creator of your own fate, architect of your own future, author of your own story.
Universe juice determines our futures.
Each individual is responsible for shaping their own destiny.
if the man was architect of his own he would totally distroyed the life of fellow human being.if he would the architect of own destiny he would straight away enter to the office the assistant commisioner and told the incumbant to vacate the office for him because he had dicidede to be an AC of that place for then ownward.
"Faber est quisque fortunae suae"
No. I disagree with the above earlier answer. Of course he is. Whatever actions you take during your life will have consequences, thus impinging or altering your situation in some way. Even if you were able to do absolutely nothing, say, lie in bed all day long or just sit in a chair, you would still have some effect upon your life i.e. fate
It is up to you to decide for yourself what to believe but the quote means that by our own free will and our own actions we excel in life, which means we write our destiny, not god or some superior being, it is a popular saying in contrast to those who believe that god is the all superior being which controls everything you do, and obviously the same applies that it is unpopular among religions such as christianity.
