They were made from .925 fine silver, were 36mm in diameter and weighed 22.62 grams.
1887 - 483,347 minted.
1888 - 243,340 minted.
1889 - 1,185,111 minted.
1890 - 782,146 minted.

∙ 12y agoPre-20th century mintage figures are not especially accurate since the coins were often minted by weight rather than to a specific quantity.
As far as the 1893 British Double Sovereign is concerned, it is thought that approximately 52,000 coins were minted for general circulation. A further 800 were minted as Proof coins.
