how many ribs does a blue whale have
There are no records that show the largest whale ever recorded. But the Blue Whale was not the largest thing ever to have lived. A. fragillimus was the largest growing up to 58m long (190ft). A. fragillimus was a dinosaur from many years ago.
A blue whale's grunts, hums, and moans can reach 180 decibels. These sounds are also capable of travelling very long distances in water.
It would take eight or nine to match a male blue whale, over 100 feet long.
Many whales grow larger than the largest shark. The whale shark is the largest shark at 50 feet, while the blue whale can be two times as long.
A blue whale can feed approximately feed 50,000 people
The Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is the largest mammal, and possibly the largest animal in the world. The largest recorded Blue Whale was 33 metres long, and whales can weigh up to 136 000 kg.
Blue whales can live for 80 to 90 years. No blue whales are being killed now. Hunting of the blue whale stopped in 1977. Now, the blue whale's only predator is the orca, or killer whale (actually a type of dolphin). Almost a quarter of blue whales have scars from orca attacks, but the blue whale's size (up to 120 tonnes and 60 metres [200 ft] long, bigger than any of the dinosaurs) suggests they are difficult to kill. There is no information on how many are killed by orcas.
