Having owned one back in the mid 80's, I know what you have. Depending on condition value would be between $300-$500. It was the same as their standard Hawken but with S/S trim/furniture and a select walnut stock. The one I had would hold 3 in groups @100yds w/iron sights. Good luck with yours and don't sell it short, Thompson wasn't made these for over twenty years....
There are a couple of methods, First and easiest is a 1 piece base made for the TC Hawken. and screws to the existing rear sight holes Available from many of the large retailers like Midway USA Cabella's and Thompson Center. With the base you can choose your rings or even use a scope you may already have, and be able to remove it for cleaning the gun. The second is having the barrel taped for rings, several style are made for this application also, and from the same retailers.
The name of the rifle is Hawken, after the original makers, Samuel & Jacob Hawken of St. Louis MO. The name became used by other companies making a rifle that was large bore (.50 or larger) with a half stock, and set triggers. Many companies make, or have made, a Hawken style rifle. However, the "in line" muzzle loader rifles have reduced interest in traditional side lock rifles. You may want to check on line gun auctions, such as auctionarms.com, or gunbroker.com for examples. MY Hawken is a Thompson/Center "Renegade" .50 cal- and it is a great shooting rifle.
