I'm not sure what the actual population numbers are, but I know that they are on the "Least Concern" list because, even though the rainforest deforestation is causing their numbers to decline, they are adapted to survive in open areas as well, so the threat isn't as great as for creatures who can only survive in heavily forested areas.
Seriously why does no one know. They have been around for 100s of years and no one has bothered to count them.
there are about 50000 toucans left in the world they are not endangered. I know this is true because im a scientist in real life and i study toucans. especially the toco toucans.
