Tool is one of the few modern bands that refuses to allow its songs to be sold individually on digital services such as iTunes. The band members' reasoning for this is that their albums are cohesive pieces of art; their songs are parts of a whole, and should be obtained and experienced as such. Furthermore, Tool puts large amounts of effort and creativity into the packaging of its albums. For example, the case for the album 10,000 Days includes stereoscopic glasses and images that produce a 3D effect. These images are designed to complement the music on the album. Therefore, if you want to obtain Tool's music legally (and you should) and experience it as its creators intended, you need to buy their CDs.
Justin Chancellor is the current bassist for Tool. He replaced the original bassist, Paul D'Amour. Chancellor's main bass is a Wal 4-string he bought on a friend's recommendation during the recording of Aenima. The wood and electronics help create his notorious midrange cut. He has several other basses which he has used live and on other albums, all of them by Wal
