Hundereds of animated films have been nominated for Academy Awards (Oscars). Three to five films have been nominated for Best Animated Short Film every year since 1932. 2010-1932= 77 years; 77 years * 3 films = 231 films; 77 years * 5 films = 385 films.

Beauty and the Beast is the only animated film nominated for Best Picture before the creation of the Best Animated Feature category.

Up (2009) was the first animated film nominated for Best Picture since the return to a list of ten nominations for Best Picture.
