John Williams has received five Oscars for his film scores. He won for his adapted score for "Fiddler on the Roof" (1971) and original scores for "Jaws" (1975), "Star Wars" (1976), "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) and "Schindler's List" (1993).

He has been nominated 50 times for Academy Awards, most recently for his 2015 film score for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." In Oscars history, only Walt Disney with 59 has earned more nominations.
