The number is not given in The Bible, but there are two interesting verses that indicate that Jesus did not baptize anyone -
See John 4.1 & 2 -
When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
here we can not say the number of people who were baptized by John the Baptist , as therte were no records ever kept on this.
A lot but the most notable person he baptised was Jesus himself.
3000
No; John the Baptist baptized Jesus in the River Jordan.
Jesus Christ. God sent John the Baptist to baptize. God gave him the authority to baptize and he baptized Jesus. The "Baptist" denomination is the only denomination mentioned in The Bible. The Baptist church originated with Jesus Christ in the land of Israel.
we call him that because he was the first to legitimately baptize, and because he baptized Jesus
He baptized into water, but the one coming after him (Jesus) would baptize into the Holy Spirit.
John the Baptist was not a crazy person. people believe that because they would NEVER baptize Jesus or do anything that John did. and since most people don't like to admit this they say that the people who do these things are crazy.
It is well taken by most people that John the Baptist, is the forerunner of the annointed, and that he did baptize Jesus. But, based on the KJVB accounts in the New Testament, there is no evidence that could support that question. However, was is very clear is that John was beheaded.
Because St. John also known as St. John the baptist was the first person to ever baptize somebody. He baptized Jesus in the Jordan river and many more people.
If you ever read the bible or watched a movie about John the Baptist he said that he knew that Jesus was the son of God and he really didn't have a problem with that. And when John the Baptist baptized the Son of God, before he even did it he fell to his knees and said to Jesus that he wasn't worthy enough to baptize Him.
Actually nobody did baptize John the Baptist.
John the Baptist is said to be the forerunner of Jesus Christ, for it was John who prepared the way for Him. To testify that Jesus, who was to come, was in fact the son of God. It was Johns responsibility to baptize Jesus. Finally, John was the only legal administrator in the affairs of the kingdom.
Nobody.
Because it was By St. John's Baptism that Our Lord was Anointed as the Messiah.
