East of Eden and Travels with Charley and his final in 1961 was the Winter of Our Discontent. In 1962, he won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

If referring to the Apostle John of the New Testament, he is commonly attributed with writing the Gospel of John, 3 letters of John (I John, II John, and III John) as well as the Book of Revelation.

It should be noted (as many believe) that the only 'author' of The Bible is God as is recorded in Exodus 34:27 to Moses and 2 Timothy 3:16 to the New Testament Church. Books attributed to 'writers' is simply them being inspired by God to record His message to all mankind.
