Roofing is sold by the "square" which is 100 square feet per "square" and there are 3 buncles per square. A 2800 square foot roof = 28 squares x 3 bundles per square = 84 bundles. Add about 10% (3-4 bundles) for trim waste. This is pretty accurate for a simple hip roof. A roof with multiple valleys can take a bit more.

3 bundles per square. A square is 100 square feet. 25 and one third squares in 2534 sq. ft. 3x25=75 plus 1 bundle for the 34 sq. ft. 76 bundles of standard grade shingles if you don't mess any of them up. You will need extra for the starter row and for the cap unless you are planing on a ridge vent.

Roofs are measured usually by the "square" which is 100 square feet. So a 1000 square foot roof would be 10 square. Just divide square feet by 100. Understand? When you buy shingles typically 3 bundles make one square. So in your case:

1120 sq' / 100 = 11.20 square.

11.20 x 3(bundles per sq) = 33.6 so 34 bundles.

Don't forget snow & ice shield, flashing, nails, felt, caps ( can use shingles or actual bundles of cap material ), drip edge and so on.
