Are you referring to on the water rowing, or rowing indoors on an ergometer? Both burn calories at a very rapid rate.
On a concept 2 erg machine, you can select a screen that displays the number of calories per hour.
On the water, it is a bit harder to gauge, but if you plan on rowing competitively, you can easily burn over 1000 calories in a 2-3 hour session.
From my experience as a varsity collegiate rower, throughout our rigorous two-a-day practice sessions, it is necessary to consume nearly 5000 calories a day, and weight can still be lost.
Depending on the level you seek to row at, you can easily burn a huge amount of calories.

When you expend the energy to complete that project.
Rowing is a good means of staying fit as it combines outdoor exercise with a low impact, aerobically based activity. It can be done on most bodies of water and can be done for a lifetime with others or all by yourself.
yes, it is.if you are looking to get a good workout, try to do 30 minutes on the rowing machine(erg). I row and erg everyday and i have done every machine in a gym and the erg is the hardest by far.
If done properly for a long enough period of time in absolutely will!
Rowing is physically and mentally challenging. It is the epitome of team sports; everyone must be perfectly in sync with regards to their timing as well as their determination in order to win. It gives a sense of pride to be one of the few that can take the challenge of rowing. After all is said and done, to win a race is the best feeling in the world.
Each pound of fat is equivalent to 3500 calories, so in order to lose a pound of fat, an individual has to expend that much energy or curb his dietary intake by that amount. For example, if he were to exercise away 500 calories daily, he would lose a pound in a week. Alternatively, cutting his intake by 500 calories would accomplish the same goal. In order to lose seven pounds weekly, he would have to save or expend the 3500 calories every day. Since most of us require 1500-2500 calories daily, depending on activity and metabolism, that would require a great deal of exercise. A rule of thumb is 100 calories for a mile walked; therefore, a daily loss of a pound would require a daily walk of 35 miles OR curbing intake by 1000 calories, probably not a healthy choice, and walking 25 miles daily. Note: it takes the same energy to move a body one mile whether it's done walking or running. The only variable there is the time.
You have to buy one of those books for counting calories .. and calculate the nb of calories of each dish
burning calories is a continuous domain, as the number of calories burned increase in relation to the amount of activity being done
By the slice, the medium cooked has more calories as it still contains more fat than has rendered out of the well done slices. By the ounce, well done bacon has the most calories as it weighs less than raw or medium cooked for the same reason: the fat has rendered out and it is lighter, so more slices per ounce. Well done always has the least fat. So if you want the least fat and calories per slice, always use well done.
We have traditionally done well at sailing, and in rowing Sir Steve Redgrave won Gold for five Olympiads in succession.
