The amount of calories you should eat depends on your life style. If you do little to no sports, you want to eat less to make up for the lack of exercise, although doing exercise would be the healthier option.

Also, the amount of calories is less important than how you take in those calories. Even if you stick to a healthy diet, if you consume that by eating deepfried foods every single day, you won't maintain your weight.

In general, you should consume 2500 calories if you're a man, 2000 if you're a woman.
