It varies. It also might depend on whether or not you seek them out.
I was at the Magic Kingdom in October 2014 & I just happen to see, Mickey, Minnie, Alice, The White Rabbit & Gaston.
Also, you can always see more if you watch the parades.

I have no idea why this is under Disney Theme parks, but I am going to take a wild guess here and say that you are talking about kingdom hearts. The reason the Disney characters can't know about other worlds is similar to what would happen if people in real life found out there were a lot of other planets out there that held life, there would be mass hysteria.
You can meet him in Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom in front of the Haunted Mansion during October until January. You Can check the exact dates on Disney Worlds website. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/calendar/
From what I've heard the Pixar worlds are a definite in Kingdom Hearts III. Originally, the Kingdom Hearts creators wanted "Finding Nemo" and "Toy Story" because, despite the Disney name, were registered with Pixar which is a separate company. But because of the development and success of Kingdom Hearts, Disney finally bought Pixar. Resulting in new Pixar worlds! It's a given because due to their critial and commercial success, it would be a missed opportunity not to have the characters and themes featured in the next game.
This is a question that only the creators of Kingdom Hearts can answer. But my guess would be no. All the Kingdom Hearts games revolve around the character Sora, who is searching for his friends and trying to find a way to defeat the Heartless. As long as Sora (who is not from a Disney movie) remains the main character, I don't see a Kingdom Hearts game being made that will take place only in the Disney worlds.
You can see characters for free in all kinds of parades and live shows throughout Walt Disney World. Check out the free Times Guide for scheduled Character appearances. If your child MUST see Mickey the minute they get to the Magic Kingdom, ask a cast member. They can phone a hotline that will tell them if a character is in the park, and where. Characters frequent all the parks and several resorts, but they

The video game series Kingdom Hearts is about a boy named Sora. He is searching for his friends, Riku and Kairi. Sora is joined in his quest by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. They are also helped by Chip and Dale, who assist with the space ship. Through the games, Sora and company travel to many Disney worlds. On each world, they help the characters there through their respective story lines. Worlds visited include: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Aladdin, Tarzan, Mulan, and Peter Pan. The entire Disney "universe" in which these worlds exist is ruled by King Mickey and Queen Minnie.
There are Disney theme parks in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong. The next is scheduled to open in Shanghai in 2016.
No, Kingdom Hearts is a solo player adventure game that takes place in many Disney worlds.
