How many children disappear every year without ever being found--I heard that 3000 children disappear in Hawaii alone each year is this true?
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's website, nearly 800,000 children disappear every year in the United States. That number can be misleading though. Missing means any reported disappearance if a child under the age of 18 for more than 48 hours. Over 500,000… of those are kids who return unharmed, usually on their own. Another 200,000 are kids who are "abducted" by other family members. Another 58,000 are non-family abductions. About 200 a year are stereotypical kidnappings where the child is taken with intent to harm. Another factor is that believe it or not, many cases are not reported and thus don't count as missing statically in official law enforcement reports. Any way you look at it though, the numbers are still strong with one child every two and a half days who truly are kidnapped in the traditional sense. In addition to that, 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 10 boys will be sexually victimized before adulthood. ( Full Answer )

What are the two major reasons that tens of thousands of women are kidnapped every year in Southeast Asia and sold as brides in China?
Technically from sociological point of view, one question would call for diverse answers from many standpoints depending on how the question is raised and which school of thoughts employed to anwered. Some examples as follows. 1. From radical feminism, women are kidnapped, trafficked and/or sold …as a result of gender partriarchy, that is from male's oppression and exploitation. Since women's status is lower than men, they are manipulated and repressed, being kidnapped, trafficked are only the forms of oppression, in the same manner of being beaten, being viewed as domestic and unpaid housewives or merely reduced to be "reproductive bodies". 2. Political economy theorists would claim the phenomena as result of the economic-driven motivation embedded in the politics. Women are exploited by the capitalist system that dehumanize them and turn them into commercial goods. 3. Cultural studies may suggest the cultural values that made women endure such calamities, such as the gender stereotypes and meanings of being women that women may sell themselves to fulfill their piety to their parents or to be married, as the society expect women to be. 4. From public policy aspect, the answer may be as simple as the unbalanced gender in China due to the one-child policy. Since son-preference is resulted from Confucius strong influence and with help of ultrasound technology which enables couples to sex selection, baby boys are outnumber of baby girls. Just some thoughts to open up discussions. ( Full Answer )

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) . Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) . According the the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 44,270 adults and 4,220 children were expected to develop leukemia in 2008, which represents approximately 5.0% of all cancer diagnosis in a single year. Adults are most likely to acquire Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), while children are more likely to develop Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). ALL is the most common cancer among children 0-14 years of age, and accounts for 30% of all childhood cancers. Children with ALL usually respond well to chemotherapy, and most are cured after treatment. The death rate for ALL is only 0.4%. For all forms of leukemia, the five-year survival rate increased from slightly less than 60% in the mid-1970s to approximately 80% today. ( Full Answer )

Its a really hard question to answer, First of all not all "Kidnappings" are about stealing the child and running off or ransoming him/her back. Some are fake, either done by the person themselves for attention or by an another person to create some sort of issue/distraction in a family matter. A hu…ge percentage is over custody battles and when the individual loses, they take 'custody' themselves and is never heard of again. You also need to realize that alot of kidnappings or "missing persons reports" are never heard, and a huge percent of them you will never hear about through public means such as TV, Radio or Newspapers. There are Missings Persons lists for federal agencies and police officials, But most of those are in well-maintained countries. Now we get into the part that really screws the whole "Worldwide" part of the question.. People go missing every single day in Africa, Asia, Europe and are never heard of again, Sad to say but some aren't even noticed, Alot of them are allocated into the trade of Human Trafficking. It is a huge industry in today's world making profits in the millions, But by far one of the most disgusting and disgraceful. I Know i didn't really answer your question very well, But there is alot of factors to take in account when trying to figure something like this out. Bottom line: You wont find out unless you do a compilation of every Missing Persons list. But you can be sure its not a small number. ( Full Answer )

14,695 minors are kidnapped in Mexico each year (2013). From thatnumber, approximately 40% (5,878) are recovered. Unfortunately, another 47% (6,906) are recruited by the drug cartels, mainly dueto the fact that minors just face a 3-year conviction if caught.Another 13% (1,911) -- mostly girls -- are …sold as sexual slaves. Before you think of Mexico as a no-man's-land unsafe for children, you should be aware however, that Mexico's kidnapping statisticspale against those of the United States, where 800,000 children arereported missing each year; even if you consider a recovery rate of97% (776,000), there are still 3% or 24,000 children that are neverfound.
