Unfortunately some times the water breaks before you have started to dilate at all. It is very important that if your water breaks you speak to your maternity care provider as there is an open pathway for infection to the baby. Sometimes the water doesn't break until the baby is born, some babies are even born inside the bag of waters. This is called a caul and is supposed to be lucky. ~ [[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] 20:31, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC)[[User:Mrsaleman|Mrsaleman]] Mrsaleman 20:30, 10 Jul 2008 (UTC) I had to have the doctors break my water with both of my kids because I felt contractions and labor pains but usually in teens, the water doesn't break on its own.... ~Brandi
