∙ 11y agoIn the US, you not only need the approximate 120 credits necessary for a Bachelor of Engineering degree, but the proper courses must be taken and the degree is required by all US licensing boards to be from an ABET accredited college or it is not recognized. The 2 days of engineering examinations must also be passed to become a licensed engineer - the first of these is usually taken during the senior year of college.
