Though dietary recommendations and packaging states that 1 pound of pasta would serve eight, most portions are served to reflect that a pound of pasta would feed six people. So, six pounds of dry past would serve between 36 and 48 people.
There are 2 correct answers for this question:
#1 Assuming you are using dry pasta and cooking it fully (not Al Dente') the pasta will double in volume. So 3lbs (48 oz) of dry pasta will yield 6# (96 oz) of cooked product which will give (16) 6oz servings or (12) 8oz servings.
If pasta is properly cooked which is Al Dente' (meaning to give slight resistance when tasted) you can expect to lose 12 oz of volume or 2 (6)oz portions.
#2 If using Fresh pasta which does not expand in volume when it is cooked you will get (6) 8oz portions or (8) 6 oz portions.
6oz of cooked pasta is equal to the derivative of Newtons^2 then divided by the weight of the bag of dried which is multiplied by the divisor of the temperature of the water you are boiling your broccolli in, plus "e"^n-1*4/5 and minus the length of time (t) your dried pasta is in the water..... so I'm gonna guess 6oz... BUT this is just a guess...
Depends on which pasta. All are different.
about 150grams maybe! :)
16 x 6 = 96 !
That is approximately 1 cup.
2 and a half servings
1 pound
8 ounces = 1 cup
Define the pasta -all are different.
Specify WHICH pasta. All are different weight/volume ratio.
Cooked or dry pasta ? If dry, a cup is about 3 ounces, so 4 cups would be 12 ounces.
16 oz. dry rotini pasta should equal roughly 8 cups of cooked pasta (1 cup cooked pasta = 2 oz. dry pasta)
All pasta has different weight/volume ratios. Please SPECIFY WHICH pasta in an a question like this.
It is 16 ounces, because one cup is 8 fluid ounces or just ounces.-Hannah Hannah, you're confusing fluid ounces, which measure volume, with ounces that measure mass... which I believe is the situation the asker is dealing with. In my experience, about 3/4 cup of dry pasta is 2 ounces. It also depends on what type of pasta you are measuring. Two cups of orzo will weight more than two cups of penne.
Two ounces of dry noodles equals different amount cooked depending on the type of pasta. Two ounces dry macaroni equals 1 and one eighth cups cooked. Two ounces dry spaghetti equals one cup cooked. In general, two ounces of any uncooked pasta is one serving.
Depends on WHAT pasta, all are different . - Be specific tell us fettucini, gemelli, penne etc.
That is approximately 9 ounces
9 cups
1 cup of dried milk = 5 ounces.
