Remember that you can only convert fluid ounces this way. One cup of feathers is going to weigh a lot less than one cup of nails. Dry ingredients have to be converted differently according to their weight. The only way to figure out how many cups 4 oz. of dried bread crumbs would be is to actually weigh out 4 oz. of bread crumbs and pour those bread crumbs into measuring cups and figuring it out that way. Sorry this doesn't answer your question. I just felt the need to correct the previous answer that was incorrect.

∙ 10y agoTo learn the cub equivalent of 12 ounce of bread crumbs, we has to realize that cup is a volume measure and ounces is a weight measure.
Our usual relation, saying that 8 oz. of WATER is one cup is wrong because it only takes about 90 grams of bread crumbs to fill a cup.
You can deduce this from the label ion a can of dry breadcrumbs that says "Serving size 1/3 cup (30 g)"
Since 30 g is approximately one ounce (exact is 28.4 g), then 12 oz of breadcrumbs is:
12 oz=12oz*(28.34g/oz)*(cup/3)/(30g)=3.77 cups
Approximately 12 ounces of dried bread crumbs = 4 cups.
