he' s a dog from the iditarod do sled race He's not just that.To Tell you the truth, most of the first movie isn't true, and the last 2 aren't real at all.In early 1925,doctors discovered that there was an outbreak of dipthria, which is a disease that effects the troght that grows and if its not treated with antiserum's in time,it grows so big the victim suffocates and dies and usually effects kids, not adults,in Nome,Alaska and the nearest anti serum was in Anguage which is across Alaska,so the people of Nome decided to use a train to Nenana, and use a musing(dog sled)teams for the other half.Balto wasn't spose to run alot, but he did. When he was running, the lead dog lost the trail because when they where running a blizzard co bad you couldn't see 8 in. in front of your face.Luckeley, the iditarod trail was used to get mail to other city's back when, and Balto ran that trail many, many times and knew how to get home.So his musher,Gunner Cassen, knew it,so he put Balto in the lead. They didn,t notice but they passed their stop,so they ran the rest of the way,and tada,he was famous, but if you don,t think a dog finding his way trough a really really bad blizzard and saving a whole city, well that's your chocie, hes my model,p.s he's was a Siberian husky, mostley black if not all=D
