The key code is not located on the car. The dealer can get it from their computer system, or it was on the original sales paperwork for the car.
Try inside the trunk, on the support. It is a little sticker, 5 digits. Go to the dealer. Good luck
It depends on the encryption strength. For 64 bit connections, the key is 10 digits long. For 128 bit connections, the key is 26 digits long. For 256 bit connections, the key is 58 digits long.
no, you have to have the key. The car is paired with one key, and one key alone. If you do not have the key, the car does not have the right code to start.
use the key
The key code for an ignition key is different for each make and model of car. The thing to do is contact the dealership or a locksmith to find the correct key code for the make and model of the vehicle in question.
All dealers keep the key code on file for the vin. Copy down the vin and call the dealership. They may want to see some sort of proof you own the car, and you'll probably pay $40 plus for the key, but should still be cheaper than a locksmith. (IMPROVE) NOT all dealers keep key code by VIN. As a matter of fact many don't, and some only go back a certain number of years. Depending on the make and model of car you can get a code off one of the locks, but if the car is locked that won't do any good.
If you have the key number code and can prove that the car is yours then yes. It is always better to try to go to the selling dealer. Some car companies will give you a REAL hard time if you do not have the key code.
Call your local Volvo dealer, and have you VIN# ready, the dealer should be able to tell you the code. NOTE: if you have the Volvo cr-814 cassette radio your code will be 6 digits, you use the radio preset station buttons 1-6 to input the code and this is VERY important, when inputting the code the first 2 digits will not show in the display window but the last 4 digits of the code will show in the window! do not try to repeat the code over and over again when you do not see the first 2 digits in the display window. After inputting the code push the "aut" button until the code window clears and radio staion is displayed, leave your key in the on position for accessory but not running in the car for 1 hour with the radio on, you're done enjoy!
nissan dealership will have code and can make new key based on vin.
The code is on the computer box behind the rear panel on drivers side. The number is 5 digits and bold black numbers on the sticker.
