Well it could have from 1 to 14, if you need more information about breeding budgies, http://elbalcondejaime.blogspot.com/is a good site to learn, you´ll learn about cares during breeding, food during breeding, how to treat when the first babe is born... and much more things!
Our Budgie laid 7 eggs...first one hatched on March 23 and the rest proceeded to hatch every two days...but 2 of the eggs did not hatch...But today, April 8, the eggs were pecked at before we noticed and there were two dead babies in them. We removed them from the nest. They would have not survived anyways because the first ones are so big now. This is our first time {and ONLY time} having babies....she laid eggs for a year but threw them out of the next after approx. three weeks so we were so surprised when we peeked in one day and found a little pink baby!
If you are looking in seasons, it can be up to 4 times a year. Don't do this to the bird, it will get very stressed.
If you are looking in terms of lifetime, it will produce as much as it can; don't force it.
If you are looking in terms of one season, a female can be in labor for a few hours per egg. That can add up to a few days.
If you are looking to breed birds, do your homework, its a big responsibility. Good luck!
An average female budgie lays eggs in groups of 3-6.
maybe six
Birds including budgies do not get 'pregnant' they lay eggs, incubate the eggs which then hatch into chicks.I saw my budgies mate together Dec. 26, 2010. I separated them to another cage, away from my other 3 budgies. I put in their cage 2 nesting boxes. Every day I checked for eggs. Today, Jan. 24, 2011, I found 2 eggs in the corner of their cage, on the floor of the cage. They did not like the nesting boxes I provided. That is about a month gestation.
nothing. the female might not be pregnant yet. you'll have to wait and see
