How many eggs does a queen bee lay in her life?
Clearly this will depend upon how long the queen bee lives for.
In practice beekeepers like to have young healthy queens and so
will often replace them before they live their full span.
In theory a queen bee could live for 3 to 5 years and during
peak times of the year she could be laying 2,000 eggs a day. But in
Winter the number of eggs laid will be zero or close to zero when
conditions are very cold.
That being the case it is quite possible that a queen bee could
lay anything from one to two million eggs in her lifetime.
