Accourding to MSN Lifestyle, you need 9 quarts to serve 24 with 1 1/2 cups per serving. 1 1/2 cups seems a bit much to me. It would depend on what you are serving it on...how large is the bread? If you used 1 cup on each sandwich, you would need 200 cups. Divide that by 4 and you have 50 quarts. If you're on a budget, then reduce the amount to 1/2 -3/4 cup, and you'd need 25 - 38 quarts. The amount of chicken needed depends on the recipie. The more other ingredients used, the less chicken you'd need. Use grapes, pineapple, almonds, etc. I use a whole roasted chicken and it usually makes about 4 quarts of chicken salad. It also depends on the size of the people, the fatter they are, the more they will want to eat!
