Best Answer

There is 1 electron in the outer shell of a group one alkali metal. Just the same as there would be two electrons in the outer shell of a group 2 element.

How many valence electrons alkali metals have?

alkali metals have 1 electron in there outer valence shell. I remember that alkali and alkaline go with columns 1 & 2 of the periodic table alphabetically. Alkali then alkaline. Alkali metals have 1 valence electron. Alkaline metals have 2 valence electrons.

How many electrons do alkali metals have on there auter shell how does this affect the properties of a metal?

Alkali metal have only one electron on the external shell; the are very reactive and form cations.

1 valence electron in alkali metals.

How many electrons are in the outer energy level of the atoms of alkali earth metals?

There are two electrons on the outer shell which means they are pretty reactive. (make bonding easier)

How many electrons do the alkali metals have in their outer energy shell?

If you are referring to the alkali metals of Group 1, such as sodium and potassium, the answer is no - in fact with a valence of 1 they are short 7 electrons in their outer level, which is why they react so readily (and violently) with the halogens, chlorine, fluorine and so on.

Alkali metals have one electron more than the noble gases.

How many electrons on their outer shell does bromine have?

Seven , outer shell electrons or valence electrons increase as you move from left to right on the periodic table not including the transition metals which vary, they start with 1 valence in the alkali earth metals , and finish with 8 valence electrons on the noble gasses (group 18)

alkali solids have one each in their valence shells
