Only three: carbon shown by the symbol C, hydrogen shown by the symbol H, and oxygen shown by the symbol O. (Note that this is not the same question as, "How many atoms are in a molecule of glucose". In order to answer that question, the subscripts as well as the element symbols must be taken into account.)
