Blasting is the use of explosives to break rock as one step in mining. Sometimes explosives are used to break AND move rock to one side- to permit the mining of what was under the rock. THAT is cast blasting. Rock is cast aside.
In the mining industry you need many different tools and machinery. They use big drills, trucks, trams and different custom vehicles that are made just for mining.
There are some technological methods that are used in mining are:Open-cast mining : Open-cast mining is done when a mineral is located very close to the surface. In the open-cast mining, different minerals are taken out by removing the surface layer. Open-cast mining is famous for coal mining in India and many other countries.Shaft mining : The word 'shaft' refers to deep bores. In the shaft mining, deep bores are created to reach mineral deposits. This is because, these deposits lie at great depths. Petroleum and natural gas are extracted by shaft mining.
A rock drill is used in various surface drilling and mining operations and can usually be found on construction sites or quarries. Specific uses of a rock drill include digging wells, penetrating rock, and creating tunnels.
Many different machines may be used in construction. Two that you always see are a large compressor and a large generator to run all the tools.
Explosives are used for mining purposes such as dynamite, military purposes like grenades, and for display as well as construction and demolition
Explosives- about 5 million pounds a DAY- used used in construction and mining- and most mining would be impossible with them. Without mining, you have just reverted to a Stone Age civilization. No cars, no roads, no computers, no electriicity.
Millions of tons of explosives are used each year. As small percentage has a use as military weapons. The largest use is to break rock in mining and construction, and a small amount is used in demolition of structures.
It can have several meanings- one is a person that uses explosives for construction and mining.
In the US, we use about 5 million pounds of explosives every day in mining and construction. Compared to that, a very tiny percentage is used in criminal acts to hurt people and destroy property.
TNT or dynamite which contain nitroglycerin
People mostly use dynamite for mining to blow out holes for people to mine for coal or gold or other things. 1. Construction of rail-ways. 2. Construction of high-ways. 3. Construction of channels, harbours, etc. 4. Use in mining 5. Use as a war material for destroying bulidings.
"Permissible" explosives are used. These are explosives that produce gasses upon detonation that are less toxic than ordinary explosives.
No.....because if they banned explosives, then we will have no fireworks :( x :) More importantly, even outside of military use, explosives are critical for modern civilization. Explosives are used extensively in the mining for minerals, and in drilling and extraction of various fossil fuels. They are also used in both construction and demolition of buildings and other infrastructure. Making explosives illegal to use would make many of these tasks harder, more expensive, and often much more dangerous, and some tasks are simply not doable without using explosives.

Explosives are neither good nor bad, they simply ARE. Each day in the US we use about 5 MILLION pounds of explosives for good purposes- mining, construction, demolition, etc. However, explosives are concentrated energy (about 1 million horsepower in one stick of dynamite). Used for bad purposes, used carelessly, or used by someone without the training and knowledge to use them safely, explosives can damage property and hurt or kill people.
Anything that is not grown is dug out of the earth- metals, minerals, and petroleum. Explosives are used for all of them. Highway paving and concrete construction require crushed stone- produced with the use of explosives. The average computer contains 34 substances obtained by mining- all with the use of explosives. Building dams and highways will frequently require the use of explosives- in the US alone, we use about 12 million pounds of explosives each day.
