Are g-shock watches waterproof?

Yes, it is, for normal, everyday use. The one on my wrist is labeled "200m water resist" which means it's capable of resisting water up to 600+ feet. At those depths I'd be hesistant to wear it, but I'd consider it waterproof to depths of at least 100 feet or so.

What are swim fins?

Swim fins/flippers are rubberized (or sometimes plastic) equipment worn on the feet and used to aid movement underwater. They generally cover the foot and extend outward, allowing for easier kicking underwater. They can be used in training in competitive swimming as well as in SCUBA diving.
