Between 2 and 4 gallons of gas are left when the low fuel light comes on in a Ford vehicle. This gives the driver time to make it to the next gas station before running out.

For my 1997 Ford F-150 XLT 4x2 Triton v8 4.6L, the low fuel light comes on with about 1 gallon of gas left. That's mine, though, heh. i have a 2000 ford f150 4.2 l, i have about 3 gallons left when my light comes on.
