The gallons of gas that a typical gas station can hold depends on the size of the gas station. A smaller gas station can hold about 10,000 gallons while a larger station could have 30,000 gallons.
Fuel tanks today are double walled fiberglass with a interstitial cavity between the walls to prevent leaks and to reduce condensation (water into the gas), etc.
Tanks come in many sizes anywhere between 4,000 gals (for specialty/low selling fuels) and 20,000 gallons for regular unleaded fuel is common.
The more common sizes are 10-12,000 gallons.
The most common fuels stored in tanks are regular gasoline 87 octane, premium gasoline 93 octane, diesel, non-ethanol, kerosene.
Middle grade fuel which generally is 89 octane can be stored in its own tank, but more commonly today is 'blended' on site by equipment than mix 2 parts regular fuel with one part premium fuel (with some basic math if you use mid grade fuel you also can figure out if you can save money blending yourself at the pump. If the mid grade is 33.7% or more of the spread between regular and premium fuel you will save money. e.g. reg 2.00 mid premium 2.50 you can blend it yourself for 2.167 per gallon. )
DTW's or dealer tank wagon is a term used to describe purchasing the full volume of fuel a truck carries, as opposed to a 'partial deliver.' Fuel trucks generally carry between 8800 to 9400 gallons, this varies by location as a result of DOT weight laws and perhaps hazmat regs. Trucks usually have 3 or more compartments to carry different fuels and grades. Say a 3500 gal, 2400, a 1900, 1000, capacities for each fuel can be configured based on using varied compartment sizes.
Within the industry fuel volume per site is described at a macro level as volume per year. A small mom and pop type store with 2 or 3 mpd (multiproduct dispenser) has 4 or 6 fueling points and may sell as little as 250,000 gals a year. A 'busy' modern site like a Exxon, Mobil, BP, Wawa (NE) that has 16 fueling points (8 mpd's) will often sell 5 million + gallons annually. There are 'super pumper' interstate highway sites that sell 20 million or more gallons annually. To put that type volume into perspective, busy locations are sometimes evaluated by fuel 'trucks per day'. A super pumper desribed above could receive 8 or more fuel deliveries a day at 9000 gallons each.
I once planned a project at a busy location and outfitted the site with 2- 20,000 gal tanks (unleaded 87) a 12,000 gal tank (premium 93) a 10,000 gal tank (diesel) , and an 8,000 gallon tank (non-ethanol rec fuel).
The typical one ...2800 gallons.
That is just over 12 gallons
The typical Buick Enclave has the fuel capacity of most other sedans. The typical fuel capacity is around 16 or 18 gallons.
It hold 20 gallons.It hold 20 gallons.
Their typical fuel tank size is 84.1 liters.
It all depends on the car. You can look at the owners manual and you will see.
