The Gestapo killed about 6 million Jews including gypsies, homosexuals, russians

----------------------------------------------------

The Gestapo were part of the police, the people that they killed had nothing to do with the Holocaust. They killed some under tourtue and executed some, most likely the figure is in the thousands.

The 6 million Jews and the others were killed mainly by the SS, and also by the army.

What did woman spies do?

Women often (unfortunately) pretended to like men on the other side to get all their secrets out of them, before reporting what they have found out. Many Gestapo women on the German side often did this to Americans, but the Americans were often aware of what the Gestapo could do.

What did the Gestapo do?

The Gestapo (contraction of Geheime Staatspolizei; "secret state police") was the official secret police of Nazi Germany. Where were the gestapo based?

Gestapo Headquarters was in Berlin, on Prince Albrecht Strasse (Niederkircherstrasse today). The building was largely destroyed by aerial bombing during the war, and completely demolished afterward. There were regional detachments in every part of Germany and in every city and sizable town. Detachments also operated in every Nazi occupied country. The Nazis were able to get a stranglehold on power in Germany by making Germany a completely thoroughgoing police state. The Gestapo and its informers were everywhere. People denounced their neighbors out of fear for what might happen to themselves if they didn't, and sometimes just go get back at people they didn't like. Children were encouraged to rat out their parents for expressing opinions against the Nazi regime, and many did. Using pitiless torture and other brutal interrogation techniques, the Gestapo was able to wring information from almost everyone they put through the process. Few were able to remain silent to the end. Gestapo is an abbreviation of Geheime Stats Polizei - Secret State Police, and the terror of them was a main reason the Nazis were able to eliminate all active, vocal opposition within Germany, and maintain their grip on the country until complete military disaster toppled the regime.
