From experience, an architect working in an office can spend anywhere from the minimum of 40 hours a week (when verylucky) to twice that amount or more in a crunch. It seems generally architects overseeing a project spend at least 50 hours in the office and perhaps another 10 at home working on projects. Those that have to travel by air even more time if you include the time waiting at the airports and so on. If the question being asked is how much time to factor in for an architect's time for a particular project the answer is - there isn't one. Each job is unique and dependendant on what stage of the design process, or constrution it is under, and innumerable other factors, can all impact "how much time is worked". This does not even factor in any time for those in their office who may also be working on the same project with and for them. Hope this helps some.
Architects work around 8 hours a day, but often work overtime in order to meet project deadlines.

Architects use triangles as part of their work in designing buildings. And finding the pygratheim therom and stuff.
Generally, most architects work in or around around large cities like Toronto or Ottawa. This shows that it is more difficult to get a job in smaller areas because there are not enough people. 2500 architects (in Canada) have jobs in Ontario, and they get paid more than architects in the rest of Canada, which shows that there is a higher demand of architects here. It is also a better place to work because you can earn more money. Because it is easy to be self-employed as an architect, you can work in somewhat smaller areas as a small company, and still have enough work for a business. Even still, it is easiest to get a job in the GTA. There are many companies in the Toronto region looking to hire an architect in various positions. It is possible to get a job as an architect in smaller cities, but it is still far easier to get a job around a large city.
