Right now, you can either do it the old way (15 hours not including planning/research) or the new way (50 hours and a journey including planning/research). In a few years, only the latter will be accepted.

The amount of time it takes to complete the Girl Scout Bronze Award depends on how long it takes the Girl Scout Junior to complete one Journey (GSUSA recommends 3 to 4 months) and how long it takes to complete the rest of the requirements (a minimum of 20 hours). Depending on how often your Girl Scout Junior Team meets, it will probably take about 6 months to earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award, including the Journey.

For example, currently (August 2011), girls must complete two Senior or Ambassador level Journeys or earn the Girl Scout Silver Award and complete on Senior or Ambassador Journey as part of the requirements for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.

What girl scout badges do you transport from junoir to cadette?

Normally, you transfer the ones that you don't earn, like the Flag, the troop numbers, the Brownie Wings, and any special patches you bought at the store. (You don't have to take these off if you don't want to. You can buy new ones at the store.) And don't forget the Bronze award pin if you earned your Bronze award. It all usually depends on what you want on your vest. If you want your favorite patch, say, the Theater patch, on your vest/sash, go for it. But you can't earn badges as a cadette. You earn IP's, but you probably already knew that.

Can you be a Girl Scout but not be in a troop?

Yes. You can be what is known as a "Juliette" or Individual Girl Scout. Contact your local council for more details. Depending on your Girl Scout council, there may be a staff person who will work with you or else you will need to find an adult to register and be your adviser. With the adult's help, you may earn badges and awards. As for Girl Scout awards showing up on a college resume or application, you will put that information on the resume or application yourself. Mainly keep track of the number of years you were a member of Girl Scouts, what you did to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award, and any other significant awards earned or received as a Girl Scout.

Why do girl Scout wear badges?
