While I cannot say the exact amount,I can say that they were only made from 1994-1999.Marlin themselves may have the info you seek.
Yes, Marlin made a bolt action shotgun called the "Goose Gun". It was 12 ga only, and, I believe it held a total of 3 shots. It was a full choke weapon. Back in the 1970s a lot of guys cut the barrel down, and converted them to slug guns. This was in the era when commercially made slug guns were not always readily available. The Goose Gun has been discontinued, but, I'm not sure when. About 15 years ago, Marlin made a bolt action, slug gun with a fully rifled barrel. This beast kicked like a mule, and I had to sell it. My friend was an expert with heavy recoiling guns, and, he could not get it to shoot straight either ! I sent it back to Marlin, and they were able to shoot small groups with it. I could never make it shoot straight. Again, this gun was discontinued. I think its fearsome recoil contributed to its demise.

In asking this question it depends because there are many places a slug lives. For example if the slug lived in the forest or garden it will share it with a worm.
