Milliliters and micrograms do not translate exactly, because one is a unit of volume and the other is a unit of weight. However, for most substances, a microgram (which is a millionth of a gram) is much smaller than a milliliter (which is a thousandth of a liter). You could easily have a thousand mcg in one ml.

1 mg is one miligram, which is 1/1000th part of a gram and 1/1000000th part of kilogram.

mg is an unit of mass and ml is an unit of volume and therefore you can't convert those.

You could calculate how much volume in ml would take an object with mass given in mg if only you knew its density.

Formula would be then simply:

V = m / rho, where

V - volume

m - mass

rho - density

They are COMPLETELY different units and thus cannot be compared at all.

ml refers to a volume of a liquid i.e. one milliliter. mg is milligrams and refers to the weight of a substance. For example 1 cup of water and one cup of honey are the same Volume but different weights.

Thus there is NO right answer to your question. When giving medicine they usually label it one or the other or both. U need to learn both measurements in medicine.

Density links the two units. Density has a standard of water at 0 degrees C (273K). With a density of 1g/ml, there will be 0.001ml (one microlitre) in 1mg

No - it isn't except in one case 1ml=1mg > In water's case with a specific gravity of 1

This cannot be sensibly answered. Milliliters (mL or ml) is a measure of volume, mg is a measure of weight or mass.

This cannot be sensibly answered. Milliliters (mL or ml) and liters (L) are measures of volume. Grams (g), kilograms (kg) and milligrams (mg) are measures of weight or mass.

I have to assume a density of 1g/ml because you have not given the information.

1g is 1ml, therefore 100mg is 0.1ml or 100 microlitres

You have 30 ml of 1% lidocaine on the shelf. The order calls for 40 mg . How many mL do you need to use?

The concentration of lidocaine is given as 1%, which means that there is 1 gram of lidocaine in 100 ml of solution. To calculate how many milligrams of lidocaine are in 1 ml of solution, we can convert 1% to milligrams per milliliter (mg/ml): 1% = 1 gram per 100 ml 1 gram = 1000 milligrams So, 1% = 10 mg/ml Now we can use this information to calculate how many ml of the lidocaine solution contain 40 mg of lidocaine: 40 mg รท 10 mg/ml = 4 ml Therefore, you will need to use 4 ml of the 1% lidocaine solution to obtain 40 mg of lidocaine.
