Use the formula (n+1)(n+2)/2, where n is the number on the highest double in the set. For a double 12 set: 13 x 14 / 2 = 91. For a double 9 set: 10 x 11 / 2 = 55 For a double 6 set: 7 x 8 / 2 = 28

There is no standard amount of dominos in one set. The number varies greatly between sets. I have about 3 different sets of dominos (different sizes) and one came with at least 30 while another came with 15.

There are different amounts of dominoes within a set, depending on how many you are playing with. Usually, if you are playing with sixes, there are 28 dominoes within that set.
