Nearly 500 thousand people attended Woodstock during it's four day run from August 15, 1969 to August 18, 1969. It was slated to run only three days but ran over into a fourth day.
Subsequent Woodstock "revivals" have drawn even larger crowds.

There was a small show of paintings at the Woodstock Festival. It was located in an area away from the stage. The art show judge was helicoptered in, and cash prizes were awarded. One of the documentary films on the festival includes a very brief shot of some of the paintings in the show. Performing artists like Richie Havens and Jimi Hendrix entertained a massive crowd for three days. There is a Woodstock Museum, a film from 1970, two Soundtracks of the event, and a new movie about it. Images can be seen at the official Woodstock website or at the link below.
