Sources vary, but it's accepted that Mary I of England executed (burned) fewer than 300 heretics during her reign.

In less than four years 277 persons were burned to death. Some, like Cranmer, Latimer, and Ridley, were men of influence and high position, but the majority belonged to the lower orders.

...only 283 Protestants were burnt to death during her rule, while 57,000 Catholics and Protestants were executed during Henry's time! Of course, he was King a lot longer than Mary was Queen.

There were some other executions, like Lady Jane Grey and her husband, Guilford Dudley:

However, the figure was great as she killed over 300 protestants after just one revolt. she was also ruthless as she even killed a 19 year old boy for not beleiving in transubstantiation!

She burned over 300 Protestants because they refused to go back to the Catholic faith. This is why she was called Bloody Mary.

Misunderstood Mary Tudor?

Personally, I think that Mary Tudor really deserved the title 'bloody' because, even though she had a bad and disruptive childhood, she managed to burn alive 284 people during her 5 years of reign. Also she didn't listen to the thoughts of her people, made huge religious changes, married Philip of Spain against the advise of many at court and lost Calais due to marrying him. At the same time, it was Philip of Spain who had made Mary Tudor unhappy and unpopular and also didn't like her very much. Overall, I argue that Mary Tudor deserved the title 'Bloody Mary'.

What bad things did Mary Tudor do?

Mary Tudor, also known as bloody Mary, did lots of horrid things. She killed thousands of Protestants because they didn't want to be Catholic and refused to change religion but she was pushed on by the Archbishop. The archbishop was the real evil one here (I know that's not what you asked but oh well). She didn't just have them executed though. She had them burnt at the stake. And if they were already dead? She would have their bodies dug up and be burnt but she did it because she thought she was saving them. I also feel a bit sorry for her, as her husband hated her, and when she thought she was pregnant, it was actually a giant tumour, which eventually killed her.
