A powerful explosion of the Bezymianny volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula was unnoticed to a considerable extent, since there weren`t dead people . People returning from work, wandering around the village in search of their homes. The explosion split the top of the snow-covered Bezymianny volcano , which had been raised to a height of 3048 m above sea level. Hot stratum of ash covered the area of 482 square meters. km, melted the snow and formed the impetuous mud-streams in the valleys. These streams washed away the huge boulders weighing hundreds of tons . Trees were uprooted and burned.
