As of October 2023, a total of five Airbus Beluga aircraft, officially known as the Airbus A300-600ST Beluga, were built. These unique oversized cargo planes were designed to transport large aircraft components within Airbus' manufacturing facilities. The last of these aircraft was delivered in 2000, and while they are still in operation, Airbus has since introduced the Beluga XL, an upgraded version based on the A330 design, to further enhance their transport capabilities.
There have been many and there are at least 5 good books illustrating them. The most recent that I've actually seen was the super body Airbus 'Beluga' that carried Airbus parts from factory to factory.
