1 Cubic Yard of Sand can weigh between 2,600 to 3,000 lbs. or up to one and a half tons approximately. 1 Tonof Sand will cover between 80 to 100 square feet at a 2 inch depth approximately.
I will have to assume you are trying to estimate for a driveway, patio, or similar project.
If you plan to buy dry sand, it is generally calculated at 100 pounds per cubic foot or 1600kg per cubic metre. Weight of wet sand (builders sand) would of course depend on how much water is present.
Assuming dry sand, the answer to your question would be 8.3 pounds per square foot per inch of depth. This is 75 pounds per square yard per inch of depth.
Hope this helps.
Please note that there are different kinds of sand. A table on the site "Engineeringtoolbox" lists densities between about 80 and 125 pounds per cubic foot, depending on the type of sand, and on whether it is dry or wet.
The price will depend on the quality of the sand and also on where you are trying to buy it.
That depends on the type and grade of the sand
Sand is not a compound and haven't a molar mass; also different types of sand exist.
This is a tough one. First you have to decide which type of sand is 'sand'. Sand comes in many different grain sizes and in many different densities. If you have defined your sand, take a known volume, weigh it and do the math!
(4) x (depth of the sand in inches) x (density of the sand in ounces per cubic inch) pounds
100 x 1/4 *1/12 = 2.08 cu ft = about 208 pounds of sand
One inch = 1/12 foot 1500 x 1/12 = 125 cubic feet sand weighs 100 pounds /cu ft weight = 100 x 125 = 12500 pounds at 2000 lbs/ton that is 12500/2000 = 6.25 tons
(33.33)/(the number of cubic feet in each bag)
At 12 inch per foot that is 3.14x30x30*2/12/4 = 117.75 cubic feet of sand at 100 pounds per cubic foot = 11,775 pounds (5.88 tons). Since a yard is 27 cubic feet that is 117.75/27 = 4.4 yards
14,300 pounds. Sand has a density of 100 pounds per cubic foot.

That depends on how deep the sand is.
In your lifetime, you use at least 1,000,000 pounds of stone, sand, and gravel.
The volume of sand weighs 455x 2/12 *100 pounds per cubic foot = 7600 pounds so you need about 152 bags.
1.85 cubic yards.
