im pretty sure its the same number as the atomic number.

im thinking subatomic particles are.....protons and electrons?

could be wrong, haha. im actually doing chem homework trying to find a for sure answer on this!

subatomic particles are something that make an atom. There are six kind of subatomic particles.

Matter = proton, neuton and electron.

Antimatter = antiproton, antineuton and positron.

There are three kinds of subatomic particles in every element except hydrogen, there is no neuton because it has only one proton.

There are 95 subatomic particles in Zinc.(30 p, 30 e- and 35 n)

Zinc has five stable isotopes, namely 64Zn (highest abundance), 66Zn, 67Zn, 68Zn, and 70Zn. All zinc atoms have 30 protons and 30 electrons. The number of neutrons of each isotope is obtained by deducting the atomic number (20) from the mass number or nucleon number of the isotope. For instance, isotope 64Zn would have 64-30=34 neutrons.

Number of neutrons in a zinc isotope = Mass number - 30
